The Scientific Research

Research has shown that children low in omega-3s are significantly more likely to be hyperactive, have learning disorders, and to display behavioural problems. Omega-3 deficient diets have also been linked closely to dyslexia, violence, depression and in some cases memory problems. Some parents have found that omega-3 supplements have greatly helped children with dyslexia, and also those with attention deficit disorder and similar conditions.

There are many scientific research reports which have shown the benefits of Omega-3s not just for the kids but for the whole family. The latest and largest Oxford study has strengthened this belief by finding that children who received a fatty acid fish oil supplement showed significantly better progress in both reading and spelling than children who received a placebo. In addition, taking the Omega-3 supplement was associated with highly significant reductions in ADHD-related symptoms according to teacher ratings of the children’s behaviour.
