my 9 yr old son has a memory deficit in orditory and visual memory,he also has learning difficulties across the board.a referall was made to child and family clinic for him to be assessd for any other problems by a disability social worker as she felt my son was showing signs of other problems eg.he cannot cope with change very well and also different noises make him upset and uneasy.well we have been declined an appointment by these people because the have said that my son has not got a mental health problem. They havnt even met him ?
he is in a special needs school and i have been told that when he comes to comp age they would prefere him to go into a small unit as he would not cope in a big school.lz can any 1 give me some advise im sick of hitting my head against a brick wall
thanks
